Tag

Hello all. I'm happy to announce I'm part of The male room blog design team. The challenge is Tag.

So, I started off with a #8 white tag. I used Distress Oxide sprays on the background. In iced spruce, rusty hinge and antique linen. Sprayed and dipped the tag to make the background and when there were areas that were not drying, I decided to get out my gold embossing power and cover the spots with it.

Next, I grabbed a Dina Wakley and a aall& Create stamp and stamped them randomly over the background in brown and black ink. I then stamped the main image from Lost Coast designs on white cardstock and cut out.
I then grabbed some Tim Holtz ephemera bits and added it to the tag. I added some string and the main image to the bottom of the tag.

Take the plunge

Hello and good evening to you. Today is a very hot day where I am. So, what could be better than a nice cool beach themed card.

I'm happy to share my first card for the Fox and Found studio Design Team.

                                                   Collage Sheets Used:

                                                  Vintage Airmail labels

                                                   Vintage 1950 bathers

                                                   Vintage fish

I cut out an envelope from the Vintage Airmail labels and then used a circle stencil and some blue ink I added 'bubbles' on the sides of the envelope. Next, I glued it to the front of a kraft card base.

I cut out a lady from Vintage 1950 bathers and I added some pink glitter circles to her bathing suit. I then added her to the front of the envelope. I cut out some fish from the    Vintage fish and decided where I wanted them and glued them down. Lastly, I cut out a saying from the     Vintage 1950 bathers and added it to the front of the card. I did then add white striped to the straps of her suit.

Background foward

Today I'm at Lost Coast Blog for the new challenge.
Stamps Used:
Again I was watching a video. This one was by Jennifer McGuire and her faux monoprint. So I thought I would give it a try.
Here are some of my backgrounds I did.

What you have to is ink the paper with dye ink. I used Distress inks. You have to add a lot of ink to make this work. The orange and yellow one I just took the pad and swiped it across the paper. I did the same for the one I used. The circle one I tried with a blending tool.
Next you have to dry it completely because you are going to heat emboss with clear embossing power for the next step. If the ink is not dry the embossing power will stick to it and we don't want that. After you heat emboss your image, background on the inked cardstock take another white sheet of cardstock and tape it to the top(or bottom) of the embossed piece.
Have you die cutting machine out because that is what you are going to use to make the second piece with the white 'emboss' area.
Cover the white cardstock so it doesn't get sprayed with water. I used a paper bag. Spray the embossed piece with water. A lot of water. I sprayed it at least 5 to 6 times. Then fold the white cardstock over (because you taped it to the other it is like a hinge)  run it through your die cutting machine. I did mine about 4 times back and forth. you then take it out and you have the white 'emboss' resist on the other piece. If you missed a spot you can just spray it again and run it through. Set aside to dry and now you have 2 backgrounds for the price of 1.
I then just added it to a white card base and added a die cut flower to the front.

Cathy here with a card I made trying a new technique.
Stamps used:

I was watching one of Tim's demo video from Facebook and he did a technique called smudging. So I wanted to try it.
I stamped with Distress Oxide the Asian set and tried to smudge it and it didn't work out the way I wanted to. I wanted more smudge. So I took some of the ink off the stamp and blended it over the card. Then I took one of the postage stamps from the Mail Art set and did the same thing.
From the Asian set  I took the lady and stamped her in archival ink to stand out. I made water marks on it and then I layered it on some handmade watercolor background paper. Then set it on some black cardstock.

Spring stamp release blog hop day 3

Hello all. Back for day 3 of the blog hop for Blank Page Muse Spring stamp release.  Today it's unicorns. This is the set that I used the saying from on the Alice card.
Stamps Used:
Unicorn wishes by Donna Gray

This one I made a gift tag on Kraft paper and colored it with colored pencils.
This card I stamped the unicorn and colored in with Copic markers and outlined it to make it stand out. Then I stamped a saying on top and added a star hanging off the S.
I made this card by first white heat embossing the unicorn on a piece of paper. Then I did the smooched technique with Distress ink. I then took the circle with the star and stamped it with Distress Oxide ink all over the card.

Blank Page Muse Spring stamp release Blog Hop

Hello all I'm happy to share with you new stamps from Blank Page Muse.  They have new stamps that are from Pam Bray. Wait to you see what I and my fellow DT have made for you.
Check out Blank Page Muse blog for the start of this blog hop.

Don't forget to comment on each blog for a chance of free stamps. FREE. I mean who doesn't like free.
For this card I let the flower take center stage. I smooched some Distress ink on my craft mat. Added some water to them to make a watercolor and then I stamped the flower with black ink and embossed it. Added some sequence and a saying .

For this card I used a background paper I made with Dylusions spays and shaving cream. I made me think of Alice falling down the rabbit hole with it swirls in it. Stamped the 2 different swirls with black ink all over. Stamped Alice and color her then cut out. Stamp saying(shhhh that is from another set you will see later) Edge with whole card with black ink.

Lost Coast Designs Mayan Blog Hop Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the Lost Coast Mayan Blog Hop. Like yesterday you start with me.

I have made a card for day 2. I started of with some white cardstock and cut it into a square to fit onto the front of the card.
Then I took some distress ink and colored the white square with it. After I was happy with the color I took the main image  and stamped him right in the middle. Then on a scrap sheet of paper I stamped it again to make a mask for it. Cut the mask out and covered the main image I just stamped.
Next I took Mayan Stele stamp and stamped it randomly over the square piece of card with the same color ink I used for the background. Then I took the mask off and colored parts of the main image with Copic markers.
So here is the list for  the Lost Coast Blog Hop.

Lost Coast Designs Mayan Blog Hop Day 1

Hello all. We are doing a Blog Hop over at Lost Coast Designs. I'm your first stop on the hop.
I have made a card for day 1 of this blog hop. You can find this stamps here  for the main stamp and here for the background stamp.
I was going for the feel of what you might see in a museum.

I started by stamping the main image with distress ink on a cream color cardstock.
Then I stamped Mayan stele with a lighter color of distress ink all over the background. I was okay for it not stamping perfect because it was going to look like something from thousands of years ago anyway. Then I layered it on a piece of black cardstock and then onto a dark brown card base.
I like I said I'm your first stop on this blog hop so here is the list of where you go next.
