Background foward

Today I'm at Lost Coast Blog for the new challenge.
Stamps Used:
Again I was watching a video. This one was by Jennifer McGuire and her faux monoprint. So I thought I would give it a try.
Here are some of my backgrounds I did.

What you have to is ink the paper with dye ink. I used Distress inks. You have to add a lot of ink to make this work. The orange and yellow one I just took the pad and swiped it across the paper. I did the same for the one I used. The circle one I tried with a blending tool.
Next you have to dry it completely because you are going to heat emboss with clear embossing power for the next step. If the ink is not dry the embossing power will stick to it and we don't want that. After you heat emboss your image, background on the inked cardstock take another white sheet of cardstock and tape it to the top(or bottom) of the embossed piece.
Have you die cutting machine out because that is what you are going to use to make the second piece with the white 'emboss' area.
Cover the white cardstock so it doesn't get sprayed with water. I used a paper bag. Spray the embossed piece with water. A lot of water. I sprayed it at least 5 to 6 times. Then fold the white cardstock over (because you taped it to the other it is like a hinge)  run it through your die cutting machine. I did mine about 4 times back and forth. you then take it out and you have the white 'emboss' resist on the other piece. If you missed a spot you can just spray it again and run it through. Set aside to dry and now you have 2 backgrounds for the price of 1.
I then just added it to a white card base and added a die cut flower to the front.
Come join the fun challenge here
Also the sale is still going on. 25% off . Go get some stamps.

Magickial card starters

Hello all I have some Magickal card starters for you today. The stamps are all from Lavinia Stamps. They are a stamp company from the UK. I get my stamps from Topflight stamps or Lavinia world.

The first 2 are done on watercolor paper and using Distress Oxide sprays and Distress Spray stains for the background.

This last one was with Distress Oxide pads for the background.

On the Lavinia FB group someone changed there card they made with a filter to monochrome. So I wanted to give it a try. That is what this last one is.
Thanks for looking.

Watchful Raven

Hello all I'm here with a Lost Coast Portal blog challenge. Tweet this is what it is called.
I started out with a A2 size white cardstock and grabbed some of my Distress Oxide inks. I did the smooching technique with the inks.
Next I used the Goth Raven stamp and stamped it out on white cardstock. I stamped the branch 2 more times to give the branch longer area to go off the card.  I colored it in with Copic markers. Then I glued a eye to the raven. Why? Because he sees all the other birds flying around him.

Next I used the flying birds background stamp.  The stamp is very large. So I cut one of the birds from the corner of the stamp so I could have a single stamp.  You can't even tell it is missing when you stamp the whole background. I used that single stamp and stamped around the Goth Raven. Then I glued the raven to the front and there we have the card I made.
I hope to see what you all come up with this  Tweet This Challenge.

Gothic Unicorn Card

Hello all I'm here to share a card I made for Lost Coast Designs Challenge stamped background.
I started out with a piece of black cardstock and Grunge Diamond Background. I used Versafine  ink and white embossing power and made the background. I did add sparkle to the feathers and the horn.

Next I took Teri Unicorn and stamped it with black in on a white piece of cardstock. Then I colored it with Copic markers. Then I tore around the colored Teri Unicorn image. Then I added to the embossed piece that I did earlier. Then I added to a white card base.

You can still enter this challenge here. I hope you will play along.

6x6 drips

Over at Artful Evidence the theme this week is drips and splatters.
Here is what I did. I used 6x6 watercolor paper and distress oxide inks for the background. I used Drips stamp from Lost Coast Designs on the top of the page. Then I used Tim Holtz splatter stencil for the splatters all over the card. Then I stamped Bowtie Bulldog from KatzelKraft that Lost Coast Designs is selling.
I'm going to enter it in these challenges.

Flying High Hog ATC

Flying Hog ATC.

 Stamps Used:
Hog
Small Fairy

Other Supplies Used:
ATC
Black ink
Foam squares
Copic markers
Paint
Stencil

I first started off with some paint sticks and colored the ATC background with them. I used blues, pink and orange to make it look like a sky color.  Next I grabbed a cloud stencil and with white paint I sponges the clouds in. I set that aside to dry.

Then I took the hog stamp and stamped him on a scrap  white cardstock. I colored him with Copic markers. I cut him out and edged him with black marker so you don't see the cut lines.

Next I stamped out the small fairy wings from a scrap paper I was playing with some inks on. Cut them out and added them to the hog.  Added foam squares to back and attached to front of ATC.
There you have a Flying Hog.

Make a wish ATC

I forgot how much fun it is to make ATCs.
Over at Blank Page Muse the challenge is ATCs. What a fun challenge this is going to be.

Stamps Used:
Largest Water drop
Single Dandelion Blowing in the Wind Rubber Stamp by Terri Sproul
Small Fairy

Other Supplies Used:
ATC
Distress Ink
91% Isopropyl Alcohol
Glossy Accents
Copic Markers
Wink Of Stela
Foam Squares
Black Ink
word sticker

I started of with a ATC and some distress inks and some 91% isopropyl alcohol.

You do it the same way as the smooching technique on the craft mat but instead of water you use alcohol.

PLEASE DO IN A WELL VENTALED AREA.......

This is what I came up with. The thing about this technique the paper does not buckle. It also dries fast because of the alcohol.
Frist I stamped the largest water drop on the bottom of the ATC.  Then I stamped the small fairy on top of the water drop.  I did take some water and a brush to take some color away from inside the water drop. When that was done I covered the drop in glossy accents.

On a scrap paper I stamped the wings of the small fairy and colored them with Copic markers. I then cut out and then added them with foam squares to the fairy.
Then I stamped just the seeds from the single dandelion coming out of her hands. After it was all done I added Wink of Stela to the wings and the seeds to give it sparkle.  Last I added a word sticker from Tim Holtz small talk.
I hope you enjoyed my ATC. Please go check our my other Blank Page Muse team mates ATCs.
Also we would love to see your ATCs come join us here.

6x6 doodles

Week 2 of the Artful Evidence challenge. This week is doodles.
I used watercolor paper and I did the smooching technique on transparency. I took different colors of greens of distress inks for the backgrounds. Next I took inbetweenies stamp set by dylusions and used a stamp from it and used it on the side. Frist time using this set.
Next I grabbed my Doodle Circles from Lost Coast Design and stamped that all over the rest of my piece. Then I "doodled" in some of the circles. Yes that is my doodles.
Then I stamped Raven Right Small on the piece then I stamped it on scrap and cut out. Added a word sticker for the raven to stand on.
I am going to enter in these challenges:

Walking together

                                                    Happy Valentine's Day to all.
I made this card for the Boys, Boys, Boys challenge over at Lost Coast Portal. You still have time to join in the fun.
This is how I made the card. I started with a white 8x11 piece of cardstock. Grabbed some paints and my fingers and painted the whole thing. Set aside to dry. Then on a scrap piece of white cardstock I stamped Thick and Thin Men. Then I cut them out.

When dried I grabbed some different stencils and some black paint and added to the paper.
Next I stamped Doodle Circles on the paper and I then cut them out. you can see it here. I then placed them all over on the card front.
Then I added the stamped image the front of the card and I called it done.

Alferd Card

Over at Lost Coast Portal blog the Challenge is Boys, Boys, Boys. or men.
Frist of all I have to tell you how I did this background. I watched Jennifer McGuire Alcohol marbling backgrounds.
This is what I came up with. Some not so good. Some I love. For me cold water did not work well. Just a little FYI if you are going to try it. Also black didn't work well either.
So I just grabbed one of these background and ran it through my Big Shot with a die and cut it to fit on a front of a card. Next I grabbed a stencil and made the swirl background with some distress ink.
Then I stamped Alfred Hitchcock on the front

Stamped again on white and cut out the movie cut board and glued it on to make it stand out. Then I added it to a white card front and done.

Winged Dino

I hade this fun card the other day. I used Nuance Power for the background. I did splatter it with white paint but I felt it melted into the background. So I grabbed my star stencil and some white ink.
My dino is from the coloring book over at Lost Coast.  The wings are from crouching angel

Flying Mona part2

Here is how I did the flying Mona favorite background.  Got a straw. Cut end into strips. Picked out 3 to 4 paints. Spread out paints on craft mat. Dip straw "paint brush" into paints. Dap on paper. I used mixed media paper but you can use any type. Repeat with other colors of paint. Then I set aside to dry. Then I stamped Flying Mona on a Copic friendly paper. Colored her with Copic markers to match the paint colors I used to the background. Then I cut her out. She needed a little glitter on her so I added glitter to her crown circle.  Edged her in black marker so she blends well. Then I added her to the card and edged the blue ink. Layered the panel on black cardstock. Then added that to a card. When I was done I looked at the card and thought it needed something so I added a saying from Tim Holtz small talk stickers.

                                                                 April 2017
For this background I used a straw and paints. Yup that is it. What a fun, fast and textured background you can make with items we all have at home. To me it looks like fireworks so flying Mona had to come to the party.
Let's see what your favorite background technique. You could even win some stamps. Can't wait to see yours.
