Bubble border

Cathy here with a card for our Border event.

Frist off I want to thank our own DT Iona for this idea for a card. I stared off with some watercolor paper and some Nuance watercolor powers.
Next I stamped the bubble border on the paper twice. Then I started cutting them out. I left one main one as the stamp is and the second one I cut apart. Laying the main full one in the middle and then I picked different strips from the second on I cut up laying it on either side from the middle. I did this till I got a full card how I like it.
Last but not least I stamped the Skeleton on black paper and used white embossing power. Cut around the image and used foam squares to rise it up.
Ta-Da my card is done. I say grab your border stamps and try them a new way. Mine I didn't even use as a border.

True Friends

This month over at the Portal the theme is Numbers. Here is one tag I made for this challenge.

This is how I made this tag. I stamped thick and thin men on my tag. Next I took a distress inkpad and smooched it on the craft mat and picked up the color and painted the background. Dripped the leftovers of ink on the top of tag. After that was dry I stamped the numbers border on it. I had some rub-ons on my table and guess what they had numbers on them. So I added them. I colored the men with copic markers. Added some word stickers and twine on top and we are done.
Please come to the Portal and join the Numbers Challenge this month.

Winterish Card

I made this card awhile ago. I used Oxide inks to make the background. I stamped Mistletoe Goth from Lost Coast.
As I said I did make this card awhile ago. Had it mounted on the card and it sat there. I always felt it was missing something. Then one day I said color the berries red and add glossy accents to them. So I did.

Evil Grin

Hello all in blog land. Cathy here to show you how I did my Cheshire Cat card.

This was a great card to do.
Items you will need for this, photo paper, Distress Oxide ink, baby wipes, soft cloth, stencil, black ink pad,  verafine ink and white paper.

Here is some of the stuff you need for it.
Here is what the photo paper looks likes after you do the smooching technique with the Distress Oxide inks. I did one color at a time. Dried in-between colors. *note always move heat gun* The heat gun will damage the photo paper if you keep it in one spot for to long.
I hope you can see it is cloudy in looks.
Next you take the soft cloth and buff the cloudiness away. (the Oxide ) You can see me start it in the corner here.
Here it is done after the buff. The paper has a shiny/glossy look to it. At this point you can leave it here and got on to stamping. Not me though. See that darker spot on the paper. This is where I too my baby wipe to get rid of the darker spot. (sometimes you will get streaks just keep wiping it till they go away)

After the baby wipe.
Next you just have to stamp your image on the photo paper. Me I chose the Cheshire Cat. I then I stamped it on white paper and cut out the eyes and fangs and glued them on the front of the image. It makes it pop I think. Cut the image out and layered on white cardstock.
For the stencil background I took a stencil (one from Tim's Halloween last year) and used my Versafine ink through the stencil.
